Fall has fallen while spring has not yet sprung. This can only indicate one thing my dear friends; winter is very much upon us! In a surprising turn of events, the snow has been obliterated by moist, warm air and the ground has cleared to make way for the bustling pitter-patter of Christmas-motivated footsteps. (And just for the record, my footsteps are ALWAYS Christmas-motivated, all year long). This past weekend, the season's yule-tide ardor brought be me straight to the heart of the Seattle Center where I found the 2010 Annual Urban Craft Uprising, a very empty, albeit active, carousel, an old man conductor tending to his miniature railroad and tiny local community, and a flushed employee hustling to keep up with his busy taffy wrapping machine. All things Christmas.
This year my Christmas wish is to become best friends with Roosevelt Grier. Roosevelt (when we're friends I'll call him Rosey) is a hero exuding a form of opulence not experienced by any other man (see first photo). After playing defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams from 1958-1962, he transitioned to a hobby befitting a true professional; macrame and needlepoint. His book, "Rosie Grier's Needlepoint for Men," is for sale on amazon.com for $59.98.

I hope my laughter two stories up woke you from your slumbers. OH, Rosey...
